Rockfish Public House is a fresh seafood restaurant located in historic downtown York, Pennsylvania. We source wild-caught and sustainably harvested and farmed seafood every day and feature that seafood in dishes with creative combinations of flavors.
Opened in 2016, Rockfish Public House takes its name from the Eastern Shore of Maryland's beloved nickname for the Striped Bass -- a prized catch in the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Our name is a tribute not just to the fish, but to the rich maritime heritage and natural beauty of the bay itself.
At the heart of the Chesapeake ecosystem are its oyster reefs and aquaculture farms, working quietly beneath the surface to filter the water, clear particulates, and allow sunlight to nourish the bay grasses below. These vital grasses provide essential habitat for crabs, baitfish, and countless other species -- forming the delicate balance that the Rockfish, and so many others, depend on for survival.
At Rockfish Public House, we celebrate this connection between land, water, and community. Our menu showcases the freshest local seafood and flavors inspired by the waters that surround us. Every dish we serve honors the traditions of the Chesapeake while embracing fresh, modern twists you won't find anywhere else.
Join us for a true taste of the bay and be part of the story.
The concept of Rockfish Public House is to bring our guests the pleasure of enjoying exceptional quality seafood sourced from the Atlantic Coast and Gulf of Mexico. We work with premier seafood suppliers in these regions to select only the best seafood for our menu.Founder & Owner of Rockfish
